Matric Rewrite Registrations Have Been Extended

A number of matriculants from the 2021 cohort of students either want to improve their overall achievement for matric or for a single subject. The Department of Education has good news should you be part of individuals who'd like a second chance at writing their matric examinations.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has extended matric rewrite registrations to 18 February 2022.

If you wrote your National Senior Certificate (NSC) final examinations but aren’t happy with your results or due to some circumstances, you were not able to sit for the final exam, then you qualify to register for the May/June 2022 matric rewrite.

Who else qualifies?

  • Candidates who were absent for a valid reason (Medically unfit, death in the immediate family, or other special reasons) 
  • Candidates who want to improve their overall achievement status, or target to improve results for a single subject.  
  • Candidates who were absent for one or more papers in the November exam for a valid reason, the candidate has to write all the papers for the registered subject(s).
  • Candidates being investigated for exam irregularities, the candidate will be granted provisional enrolment to write the May/June 2022 exam, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Registrations can be done either online or by visiting the education district offices, there are education department employees who are stationed at these venues to assist with registrations.

Applicants ought to fill all of the required fields with their personal details, submit documents and then log out.
