There are some instances of the learning and teaching experienced being negatively impacted by an unpleasant relationship amongst individuals in the school community.

Former Miss Universe Iraq 2017, Sarah Idan has been working with South African organisations to advance an anti-bullying campaign in local schools.

Learner and victim of cyberbullying, Tshepiso Masetle mentioned that she had suicidal thoughts after being a victim at her school.

Miss SA Unity finalist said bullying also leads to depression as people don’t realize the impact of their words on someone else’s mental health.

Masetle added that there should be interventions when it comes to bullying.

In an interview, the former beauty queen, Idan said:

Bullying affects many children, some can cope and some cannot cope. It's a very serious issue and we really need to get our governments and everyone involved in this.

The school’s Principal, Moyahabo Mokumo said that this government ought to introduce programs around bullying issues and make visits to schools as well.

Childline South Africa advises educators to set an example by treating all children with respect.
