The University of South Africa (Unisa) has launched a campaign in collaboration with Feenix, an online crowdfunding platform, to assist Unisa students in raising funds for their studies.
The campaign's goal is to bring alumni, donors, staff members, and communities together to help raise funding for students they want to support.
According to a recent announcement by the higher learning institution, the Feenix platform is currently open to all Unisa students. Unisa students who are in need of financial assistance have already enrolled on the Feenix platform. The students are fundraising money to pay off their current and possibly previous debts to Unisa.
Unisa has received about R500 000 in funding from Feenix so far and further states that Feenix is a safe and convenient way to support students because cash donations made directly to the university's account will be received by Unisa.
