Sassa pays social grants to millions of people living in South Africa. The agency has confirmed Sassa grant payment dates for February 2025.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) confirmed the grant payment dates for February 2025. This information is crucial for the millions of South Africans who rely on social grant payments.

Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid. This is in addition to the approximately 8 million individuals who receive the temporary Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. 

Sassa Grant Payment Dates

  • Older Persons Grant: 4 February 2025
  • Disability Grants: 5 February 2025
  • Children’s Grants: 6 February 2025

Grant Payment Amounts for 2025

As confirmed by Sassa, the current grant amounts are as follows:

  • Older Persons Grant: R2,190 (R2,210 for recipients aged 75 and older)
  • Disability Grant: R2,190
  • War Veterans Grant: R2,210
  • Care Dependency Grant: R2,190
  • Foster Care Grant: R1,180
  • Child Support Grant: R530
  • Child Support Grant (Top-Up): R530 + R250

Sassa Grant Increases

Every year during the Budget Speech, the Finance Minister announces Sassa grant increases. These increases usually take place on 1 April and 1 October.

The Sassa increases for 2025 are yet to be revealed by Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana. However, we can expect the next Sassa increase to most likely take place on 1 April 2025.

SRD Grant Payment Dates for February

Payments for the SRD Grant will be processed between 22 February and 28 February 2025.
