The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has released the final Matric Exam Timetable for the October/November 2025 exam period. The class of 2025 can now plan ahead for these important final exams.

The first big event of the 2025 final Matric exam period will be the Common Assessment Task for Life Orientation will be on the 1st September 2025. This is compulsory for all matric candidates.

The main National Senior Certificate (NSC) October/November 2025 exams will kick off with Computer Applications Tech on the morning of the 21st October - with the 23rd and 24th being big days for matriculants as English and Afrikaans will be written.

The examinations will run for six weeks in exams centres across the country, ie. public schools, independent centres, designated and part-time centres.

The end of week 5 will see a lot of people finishing with Afrikaans and Economics being written on that day. Some smaller subjects will be written in the final, 6th, week including Music, Design, Dance, Marine Sciences and Agricultural Technology. The final day of the exam period will be Thursday 27th November.

Candidates for the final exams are reminded that they must be available until the 12th December in case it is necessary to re-write or re-schedule any of the papers because of potential problems.

Matric Exam Results

The date for the release of the Matric Exam results has not been announced yet, but in recent years this has been in about the middle of January.
