NSFAS has confirmed the allowance amounts for university students for June 2025.

The funding scheme offers comprehensive bursaries and student loans to eligible students enrolled in approved programmes at universities and TVET colleges. These bursaries cover tuition and registration fees, along with several allowances for food, accommodation, and learning materials.

NSFAS allowances are disbursed in 10 monthly payments throughout the academic year, which typically runs from February to November. As a result, students receive allowances during this period only.

How University NSFAS Allowance Payments for June 2025 Will Be Made

In the second half of 2024, NSFAS announced that it would no longer use the NSFAS Bank Account system. Instead, university students would receive their allowances directly through their respective universities.

Student allowances will be paid through an approved NSFAS payment channel.

NSFAS had initially planned to pay allowances directly into students’ personal bank accounts. However, due to an ongoing court case, this system has not yet been implemented.

Therefore, universities will continue to pay NSFAS allowances directly to students in June 2025.
