NSFAS has received complaints about requests and questions not being answered. They have now responded and have also provided guidance in terms of how to access NSFAS Wallet accounts.

Recently, NSFAS has been receiving many queries from beneficiaries on how to unlock or unblock their NSFAS Wallet accounts.

However, due to the high volume of requests, NSFAS has had difficulties in tending to it all and has stated that, "this has therefore created a backlog of unattended requests."

NSFAS now encourages student who submitted a request or logged an issue but received no answer to be patient as they work to process all these requests and in turn clear the backlog so that studnts experiencing this issue can once again access their NSFAS Wallet accounts.

Usually, your NSFAS Wallet account would be blocked if NSFAS has picked up unusual activity on your myNSFAS account and your NSFAS Wallet account. NSFAS has said that this could be happening because you are changing your cellphone number and requesting to reset your NSFAS Wallet password at the same time.

NSFAS then encourages beneficiaries to ensure that they memorise and safeguard their NSFAS Wallet password.

NSFAS also stated, "All students who need assistance with unblocking or unlocking of their NSFAS Wallet accounts, are requested not to send more than one request to NSFAS" as this causes a backlog of duplicate requests which leads to delays in responses to students.

Students are therefore urged to only submit one request and it will be attended to.
