Feenix is a Public Benefit Organisation which was started in June 2017 after the #FeesMustFall movement that spread across campuses in South Africa during 2015 and 2016.
The #FeesMustFall movement shone a light on the high cost of tertiary education and how financial stress impacted students' success rates.
The Feenix team is young, diverse, and passionate about education. They believe that access to education should not be dependent on wealth.
The founding partner Standard Bank shares in their belief and without their financial support and guidance, Feenix would not be in existence today.
Feenix provides fundraising to students for their education.
When registering a profile with Feenix, you will have to present a fee statement from the university. The fund will only cover what is on that statement including:
- Tuition fees
- Other academic costs
- Accommodation (at registered residences).
