Walter Sisulu University of Technology (WSU) strives to positively impact the community, as well as the country by responding to the needs of the people. Students are provided with many courses to choose from at WSU campuses.
Students may apply online via the university website and will not be required to pay an application fee. Before applying to the university, prospective students are encouraged to get the necessary documents in order and ensure that they have an email address.
Documentation required for the application:
New applicants:
- Post-matric certificate (“Old Senior” certificate, National Senior Certificate, National Certificate Vocational, and N6 certificate is accepted) if applicable.
- Grade 11 final results and first quarter or mid-year results (current Grade 12 learners only)
- Copy of Identity Document (ID) or passport
Transfer Students
Students who are from another tertiary institution may apply and submit the following documents:
- Matric Certificate
- Post-Matric Certificate
- Copy of ID or passport
- Official Academic Report
- Conduct Certificate
International Applicants
Students will need to first apply to Universities South Africa (Usaf) for evaluation of school results or other degree/diploma certificates. When they receive the results from Usaf they may begin with the application process and upload the results and a copy of their passport.
Checking the admission requirements for the chosen course is also very important to ensure that they are eligible for the qualification. Here is how students may apply:

- Fill in the necessary information. (All fields with a red asterisk are compulsory. This means you will not be allowed to proceed if left blank or incorrect information is supplied).
- Submit the required documentation.
If there are any issues during the application process, students may email supportappl@wsu.ac.za. Students will be contacted via email if they need to submit additional information or documentation. They will also receive their application status via email.
Students will receive an email asking if they require a residence and financial assistance. The email will include information about which process to follow when applying for residence or financial aid.
