If you're wondering whether or not you'll have to pay your ISFAP bursary back after graduating, the answer is right here.

ISFAP is the Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme which is a bursary scheme that is targeted towards the missing middle.

ISFAP is a support and funding model for financially needy students who fall under the "poor" and "missing middle" category of students.

The missing middle refers to students whose household income falls between a specific income bracket, typically ranging from R350,000 to R600,000. These students often encounter difficulties in obtaining financial assistance for their tertiary education, and ISFAP steps in to provide essential support and funding.

You might then be wondering if you're being funded by ISFAP, should you pay the funds back to them at any point? You'll be happy to know that ISFAP bursaries do not have to be paid back after you have graduated.

An ISFAP representative says:

Students funded by ISFAP do not have to pay back any funding or work back any of it.

So this means that a student funded by ISFAP does not have to be concerned with paying the load back in the future as it is a bursary, not a student loan.
