ISFAP refers to the Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme which is a bursary scheme that is targeted toward the missing-middle students who would like to study at a university and enrol on a course that ISFAP partners with.

The missing middle consists of students whose household income is too much to be covered by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) but is too little to pay for themselves.

To qualify for the ISFAP bursary students need to live in a household where the income is between  R0 and R600 000 per year and they need to be South African citizens.

The ISFAP bursary is distributed in the form of allowances which will help the successful applicants cope with their expenses.

The allowances that ISFAP provides are:

  • Learning material (textbooks, calculators, etc.)
  • Living allowance/Pocket money
  • Non-academic student support
  • Accommodation
  • Travelling
  • Food
  • Tuition Fees

The ISFAP bursary is ideal for students who find themselves in a position that does not allow them to fund their own tertiary education but, still wish to study.
