The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payment dates for October 2024.

These payment dates inform approved SRD grant beneficiaries when they can expect to receive their Sassa SRD grant payments.

SRD Grant Payment Dates for October 2024

Sassa confirmed that approved SRD grant applicants will receive their payments between 23 October 2024 and 26 October 2024.

Payments for clients approved for October 2024 will be processed from 23-26 October 2024.

It can take 2-3 working days for SRD grant payments to reflect in an approved beneficiaries bank account. Once the money is available, beneficiaries can access and use their grant.

Clients are encouraged to view their status on the SRD website for the exact date that payment will reflect in their bank accounts

Checking Your SRD Grant Status

To check your payment information, you can go online and complete a Sassa status check for SRD payment dates for October.

SRD grant beneficiaries are encouraged to verify their payment status to see if they have been approved for October payments. Clients can view their status on the SRD website to find the exact date their payment will reflect.

How Sassa Verifies SRD Grant Applications

When applying for an SRD grant, You will need to provide your details, such as your ID number, name, and surname, which will be sent to the Department of Home Affairs for validation.

In the next step, your ID number is checked against various databases. These include the South African Revenue Services (SARS), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to assess your financial situation. Both your ID number and mobile number undergo a fraud risk scoring process to verify the legitimacy of your application.

After all these checks are completed, Sassa will evaluate your application and decide whether to approve or deny the SRD grant application.
