Many successful applicants have been waiting for SASSA to process the payment of the R350 grant. SASSA has given clarity about the payment dates. The Special Covid-19 grant of R350 came to an end in April.

Recently, fake messages are being spread about the Special Relief Distress grant SASSA offers which pays beneficiaries R350 per month. The grant was extended for another three months.

It's no secret that when it comes to administration, SASSA isn't exactly winning any awards. Now, with their SRD grant which sees vulnerable South Africans receive R350 a month being introduced during lockdown, issues have come up and a major backlog is now happening.

SASSA is introducing payment method changes to the Covid-19 SRD Grant. This will make it easier for beneficiaries to receive their payments. Many complaints have come with the R350 grant SASSA offers and this is then seen as an effort to minimise difficulties with payments.

SASSA has launched a Recourse Mechanism which enables individuals, who were rejected from benefitting from the R350 grant, to have their application be considered again. 

Many Sassa applicants and beneficiaries have relayed that there seems to be an issue in processing details from Identity Documents (IDs). Sassa has responded with what to do when this issue pops up.
