CACH refers to the Central Application Clearing House. The CACH sign-up service collects information on learners with grade 12 results who are seeking placement at a University, University of Technology, or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College at the beginning of the year.
Institutions and the sector education and training authorities (SETAs) use the database for placement. Where places exist and prospective students meet the requirements, institutions will contact them directly once they have accepted the offer on the CACH system.
If you know what you want to study, sign up on CACH.
If you don't know what to study, contact the National Career Development Services (CDS) directly to assist you in choosing your career field and possible programme choice to capture when you sign up on CACH.
