The South African Library for the Blind is a Schedule 3A Public Entity under the National Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and is governed by the provisions of the South African Library for the Blind Act, 91 of 1998
In support of the Government’s concerted efforts to alleviate the current unemployment crisis, particularly amongst persons with disabilities, youth, and women, the Provincial Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture in the Mpumalanga provided funding to the SA Library for the Blind (SALB) for employment of unemployed youth, albeit for the short term.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified SA citizens to be considered for placement in a 12-month Internship Opportunity in the Technical Services Section of the SALB.
The start date for the successful candidate will be May 2025.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- N6 (or higher-level qualification) in Engineering/ Electronics/ Electrical/ Fitting & Turning or Boilermaker.
- The candidate must have strong communication skills in English, as the intern will be required to
interact (both verbally and in writing) with members of the South African Library for the Blind
and external service providers.
- Good general technical skills and capabilities.
- The ideal candidate should have proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills will be an advantage.
Annual CTC Salary is around R85 887 per annum.
